The Haven
The Haven is a small, friendly & fully-equipped home yoga studio in the heart of New Southgate in North London, walking distance from Arnos Grove tube station and New Southgate train station.
Classes are small (max 5 students) to ensure individual coaching, attention and encouragement. Classes generally run with the school term. All classes are of 60 minutes duration.
Depending on your previous yoga experience, or lack of it, choose between:
- Beginners/gentle : if you are a newcomer to yoga, if you’ve had a break from practise or are just looking for a gentle and relaxing yoga class. Also suitable if you suffer from ailments or are recovering from injury or surgery.
- Mixed abilities : suitable for everyone regardless of experience or lack of it. Alternatives and modifications are offered to suit different levels of experience
- Intermediate : vigorous classes which include flow sequences and more challenging postures. Suitable if you have 3+ years of regular and consistent yoga practice and are looking for a challenging practice. Intermediate Masterclasses also run on selected Saturdays.
- Yoga for strength : this is a new addition to the timetable! The emphasis is on developing strength rather than flexibility. The use of weights like wrists’ & ankles’ weight bands as well as the use of a sandbag is recommended, although optional. The class is very beneficial to women, in particular perimenopausal, menopausal and post-menopausal women. It is open to everyone, regardless of previous yoga experience.
Yoga for women
The 18.15 Wednesday class is a women-only class. All yoga classes at The Haven welcome pregnant and postnatal women and are menopause-friendly. If you would like to find out more about how yoga can support you during the menopause years, please check out our Saturday Masterclasses.

To gain the most benefits from yoga, it is strongly recommended that you attend regularly. Classes at The Haven tend to be busy and are often over-subscribed. It is highly recommended that you secure your place by booking & prepaying for the term of classes. Classes go with the school term. By prepaying in half-termly blocks not only you secure your place, you also save (cost p/class is £15) and you can also take advantage of swaps and catch ups within a generous 3-month window! To find out the dates of the next block of classes, please contact me.
If you prefer to practise from the comfort of your own home, the 10am Monday yoga class is open to online attendance.

2023 Neighbourhood Fave!
I’m very proud to have received this award and would like to thank all my neighbours who voted for me – your support means so much. Neighbourhood Fave is Nextdoor’s brand-new award recognising outstanding local businesses, and I am honoured to be among its first recipients.

The Haven welcomes seasoned yoga practitioners, including yoga teachers and trainees.
‘Sickness results from a substantial impairment of prana flow. The result can be internal organ dysfunction or physical and psychological injury. Thus the restoration of physical health involves the removal of impurities, a kind of internal cleansing (nadi-suddhi) which allows prana to resume its normal flow throughout the body’ (Yoga Sutras, IV.3)
